Ellicottville Attractions
Holiday Valley is located in the Town of Ellicottville, in Cattaraugus County, New York State. In the spring summer and fall you will find the serenity of green rolling hills, farmlands and small towns. Beyond the golf course, the pools and Sky High at Holiday Valley, there's adventure in the 35 miles of mountain biking trails in the State forest and hiking on the Finger Lakes Trail and Conservation Trail. The Village of Ellicottville is known for great dining and shopping, but there are also several galleries and artists' studios nearby. Free tennis courts, a basketball court, baseball diamond, soccer fields, a playground and picnic facilities are found in the Village Park. Ellicottville was once the county seat and several historic homes are mapped in the historical walking tour, available at the historical museum in the Village.

From antiquing to the mighty Niagara Falls, there are many attractions and things to do near Holiday Valley. Allegany State Park, the Seneca Nation Cultural Center and the Seneca Allegany Casino are both 15 miles away in Salamanca. The Griffis Outdoor Sculpture Park is 10 miles north in Ashford Hollow and features giant interactive metal sculptures placed in a magnificent outdoor setting. Olean is 30 minutes away and during fall, winter and spring months there's public skating at the William O. Smith Recreation Center. Horseback riding and horse trails wind throughout Cattaraugus County. Many Amish farms are nearby and they offer handmade crafts such as quilts, wooden toys, garden produce and furniture. Old fashioned Drive-In Movie Theaters are located in Portville and Delevan. Chautauqua Lake and Chautauqua Institution are one hour west in Chautauqua County. Natural History
Located in Western New York's scenic uplands, Cattaraugus County's wooded hilltops overlook valleys sculptured by glaciers of the Ice Age. The Allegheny River flows through the southern towns, two cities and the Seneca Nation of Indians Reservation. This river offers recreation to thousands of fishermen, campers, boaters, and others along its banks and tributaries. The Cattaraugus Creek forms a major portion of the northern boundary of Cattaraugus County. This Creek runs through the spectacular "forever wild" Zoar Valley. Both Rock City Park in the Town of Olean, and Little Rock City within the Town of Little Valley, provide majestic geological formations offering a prehistoric experience which attracts geologists, naturalists, rock hounds, and the curious. Boating, fishing, and camping can be experienced on Kinzua Reservoir.
