Sky High Aerial Adventure Park
The largest in New York State and 3rd largest in the US, Sky High Aerial Park is a series of platforms, obstacles, bridges and ziplines built in a 5 acre section of the woods and the challenge is to navigate through all the platforms of a course. There are 13 courses with varying levels of difficulty.
At Sky High everyone wears a harness with a special locking lanyard that safeguards you from falling if you slip or let go. Children must be at least 7 years old, and all guests must be able to perform certain physical tasks to participate. There is a weight limit of 265 pounds. The Climbing Forest is a 3-D version of a climbing wall where you can climb as high as 40 feet.
There are 9 trees outfitted with color coded climbing holds and the difficulty ranges from very easy to very challenging. Each climber is fitted with a harness that is clipped into an Auto Belay system.
The minimum age to enjoy the Climbing Forest is 5 years old.
Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster
The Sky Flyer is a roller coaster that zigs, zags and spirals down the mountain through the trees. Riders can control the speed of their car for a leisurely tour or a thrilling adventure! Children must be at least 3 years old and 38 inches tall (without shoes) to ride with an adult (16+) or 8 years and 54 inches tall to ride alone. Riders must be able to perform certain physical tasks to participate.
Kids will love to pan for gems at the Mister Happy Gem Mining, located at Sky High. Cost is $8 for a 3 pound bag of gems, $12 for a 5 pound bag of gems or $24 for the Motherlode 10 pound bag.
Targeted to children as young as 2, the experience mimics old fashioned panning for gold. Each miner purchases a bag of sand that contains either gems or fossils. The contents of the bag are dumped into a frame with a screen on the bottom. Miners wash the sand away with water that runs through a 65 foot long sluice and the treasures are left in the pan. An identification card is included for children to learn more about their gems or fossils.
Enjoy a chairlift ride to Spruce Lake. You may walk down the trail or ride back down the chairlift. Available Saturdays and Sundays from May 22 through October 31, 11AM to 4:30PM. $10 per rider, children under 6 are free.
