2022-23 Opening Weekend

Opening day of the 2022-23 season officially kicked off on Friday, November 25 and by all measures, it was a great one. Did the opening day weather cooperate 100 percent? No, Western New York weather rarely does exactly what you want it to do but that did not deter the enthusiastic crowd of people who could not wait to hit the slopes. With 5 lifts running and access to 9 slopes and a terrain park, there was terrain for just about everyone and skiers and riders of all ages were out there enjoying it.

Saturday was a quintessential sun-filled, bluebird day, which made for plenty of smiles on the faces of guests who were out on the slopes. Whether they were lapping the park at the bottom of Mardi Gras, ripping turns on Yodeler or making the first turns of their life over at School Haus, Saturday was a fantastic day throughout the resort.

On Sunday, rain returned to Ellicottville but there were still plenty of people out there on the hill, rocking their Gore-Tex gear to deter the elements while they worked on getting their ski and snowboard legs back in preparation of a fun-filled season out on the slopes.

We want to thank everyone who came out this weekend to help us kick off the start of the season. It’s been great to be able to open the resort and see so many amazing smiles and great winter vibes throughout the entire area.

Given the weather forecast for the upcoming week, we plan to close the slopes this Monday through Thursday and then plan to reopen on Friday (Dec. 2) morning at 9AM. We hope to be able to resume snowmaking later in the week and with any luck will see some more lake effect snow in the near future.
