Mountain Adventures Children's Program

creekside lodgeFrom the youngest Cubs and Li'l Troopers to the upper level Trailblazers and Broncos, we understand how kids tick. The trick is to let them learn, as they have fun on the snow. Mountain Adventures, in the Creekside Lodge is located adjacent to the Holiday Valley Lodge, at the foot of the Creekside Quad chairlift. Children are grouped in lessons by age and ability. Sign up for ski and snowboard programs, rent skis and arrange for lunch all in one convenient location. Lift tickets are free during class. Reservations required for all lessons for 3, 4 and 5 year olds, please call 716-699-3505.

This letter from a happy parent says it all..."The two ski instructors who provided my daughters private lessons on Monday  were fabulous. They listened to what the girls and I had hoped they would work on during the lesson. After the lesson the instructors explained what the girls worked on and what they could do to continue to improve. At that point I thought the lessons were a success and I would have recommended them to friends. What I did not expect was that for the rest of that day and the next the girls continued to tell me how excited they were to have had the lessons and how much fun they had. They continually told me things their "coach" told them about skiing, the slopes, the terrain park, the fort, tree skiing, and the "golden chair". My six year old could not have been more excited when she was able to ride up on the "golden chair" Monday evening and again first thing Tuesday morning. Thanks!"

Morning and all-day registration ends at 9:30 and afternoon registration ends at 12:30. The Morning Session is 10AM to Noon. The Afternoon session is 1PM to 3PM. The All-Day Session is 10AM to 3PM.

Helmet Safety

Helmets provide significant protection, but they cannot provide total protection from all foreseeable impacts. It's up to you to educate yourself about their benefits and limitations. Ultimately, the choice of whether to wear a helmet is one of personal or parental choice. By following Your Responsibility Code you will reduce your risk of all types of injuries. Helmet rentals are available in the High Performance Shop on the lower level of the Clubhouse Chalet and in the new Creekside Lodge. Go to the Lids on Kids website for more information on kids & helmets.

Chairlift Safety

Mountain Adventure programs include instruction and use of chairlifts and/or tows. Riding a lift may occur without an instructor. Children may be required to ride the chairlift with other children in the class, Holiday Valley employees or other adults in the lift line. Riding a chairlift can be a hazardous activity for your child. By allowing your child to enroll, you acknowledge the inherent risks of skiing and accept any and all injury to your child. According to Your Responsibility Code, it is your responsibility to know how to use and ride the lifts safely.

KidsOnLifts.org is a great site to visit with your child to learn about the importance of lift safety. Be sure to watch this fun animated video with simple and understandable rules about loading and unloading the lifts safely. Parents be sure to watch this informative video on chairlift safety.
