Meet Our HV Staff - Holly Morton

Dash Hegeman

Holly MortonThe staff at Holiday Valley prides itself on having unique personalities, a love for guest-centric customer service and perhaps above all, having fun. They are part of the experience that makes visiting the resort such a memorable experience. This Staff Series is an opportunity for you, our valued guest, to get to know some of our staff so that the next time you are visiting the resort, you’ll feel even more at home as a result of “getting to know” some of our staff.

Who are you? What do you do at Holiday Valley and how long have you been working here?

Holly (from "HollyDay" Valley) Morton. Bartender at John Harvard's year round and Cabana Bar and ... never know where you'll find me. It will be 20 years in December, YIKES!

What do you like more, summer or winter? Why?

I prefer summer over winter mainly because I love being outside in the sun and warmth.

What is your favorite thing about your job?

It's nice to see the smiles on the faces of customers that are happy to see me. I enjoy meeting new people and continue the friendships with customers that have been around since I started at the Hearth (if you weren’t skiing in the 90’s, the Hearth was the restaurant in the main chalet at that time).

When you’re not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?

Winter time ... ski, snowshoe, relax at home and make banana bread, cookies, apple pie to keep the house warm. Summer time ... I'm usually busy with yard work. But I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, bike rides, boating with friends that have boats, pretty much anything outside.

If you’re off work and having fun with friends at Holiday Valley, what are you doing?

I'd probably be hiking around Spruce or at the Cabana Bar enjoying a cold beverage.

What’s your best Holiday Valley memory?

Too many to choose from for the number of years I've been working at Holiday Valley.

In your opinion, what makes Holiday Valley special?

The beauty that is seen every season. I've lived in this area all my life and learned to appreciate what I may have taken for granted before working at Holiday Valley.
