Who are you? What do you do at HV and how long have you been working here?

Hello! My name is Ben, and I have been primarily running the Mardi Gras lift for going on 6 years now. 

What do you like more, summer or winter? Why?

I like them both for different reasons, but I think I like winter just a touch more. It feels to me like a time of reflection, improvement, and renewal. The quiet in the air, relative to summer, seems like everything is relaxing and taking a breath to recharge and grow for the spring and summer to come. 

What is your favorite thing about your job?

Getting to interact with all the wonderful regulars I've gotten to know over the years! There is Tim, who talks with me about books and life during quiet moments at the lift. Rick is always up for a fun time and brings a smile to all us lifties. And so many more that I can't list them all. 

When you're not working, how do you enjoy spending your time?

I can usually be found reading or playing games with friends. 

If you're off work and having fun with friends at HV, what are you doing?

Most likely snow boarding. I'm not to great at it but I like getting out and enjoying the slopes. Northwind and Candy Cane are both favorites! Especially if I can get out with friends it makes for a great time!

What's your best HV memory?

Probably all the great interactions with customers when they ask about the holiday of the day that I've written on the Mardi Gras board.

In your opinion, what makes HV special?

To me its the people. The slopes are great and the indoor facilities are wonderful. But it if wasn't for all the great Staff and the wonderful customers then it wouldn't feel as special as it does. The people are what bring the memories and the fun times. Together we have the magic to make new great memories, hopefully far into the future.
