As a very proud sponsor of the Roger Tory Peterson Institute's efforts to showcase incredible outdoor films, we are thrilled to say that Banff is back! The Banff Mountain Film Festival returns April 24 and 25, 2026 for two nights of the world’s best mountain sport, culture, and environmental films.
Experience the thrill of the mountains with the 50th Annual Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, which brings the world’s most inspiring outdoor adventure films to the big screen for an unforgettable night of exploration, storytelling, and breathtaking cinematography.
Each year, the Banff Festival in Alberta selects the best mountain and adventure films from hundreds of submissions. After the festival, a curated collection of award-winning films travels the globe, stopping in more than 40 countries and over 600 communities.
This special anniversary program showcases a dynamic mix of short films that celebrate life in the outdoors. Expect powerful stories from climbers, skiers, cyclists, paddlers, and explorers who push their limits in wild places around the world.
The evening program typically features 6–8 films with themes ranging from high-altitude adventure and mountain culture to environmental stories and human resilience.
