New SKIDATA RFID System

This winter, hitting the slopes at Holiday Valley will be smoother than ever! We’re rolling out a brand-new RFID ticketing and lift access system, powered by SKIDATA, a global leader in mountain resort technology. That means faster access to the lifts, easier ticket pick-up, and a more seamless start to your ski or snowboard adventure.

What’s New?

If you’ve skied with us the past two winters, you’re already familiar with RFID cards. This season, we’re stepping it up by partnering with SKIDATA to bring guests the most reliable and user-friendly system out there.

Here’s what you can expect:

Quicker Lift Access – Just have your active RFID card in your pocket and head to the lift.

Better Reliability – Cards scan more accurately, helping to cut down on delays and fraud.

Self-Service Convenience – Pick up your RFID card at new kiosks (Skiosks) located across the resort.

Smarter Lift Access

We’re also installing SKIDATA’s sMove Wave gates at Yodeler, Chute, and Sunrise lifts to keep lines moving quickly and smoothly. The rest of our lifts will use updated hand-scanning technology for quick verification.

Holiday Valley President and General Manager, Dennis Eshbaugh, summed it up best: “This addition to the resort is designed to help make the skiing and snowboarding experience here even more convenient and enjoyable while also enhancing data integrity and reducing fraud.”

Where to Pick Up Your Card

Once you’ve purchased your lift ticket online or on-site, grab your RFID card at one of our new Skiosks located at:

  • Base Area (outside the Customer Service Building)
  • Main Lodge lower level (near the Rental Shop)
  • Outside Yodeler Lodge
  • Outside Tannenbaum Lodge near the Sky High building
  • Snowpine Quad (across from the Snowpine Parking Lot on Rt. 219)
  • Guests staying at The Inn at Holiday Valley, The Tamarack Club, or with Holiday Valley Rental Management will also enjoy easy access to ticket pick-up.

A Few RFID Tips

To keep things running smoothly:

  • Load your ticket or pass onto your RFID card before riding.
  • Only carry one RFID card in your pocket at a time.
  • Store it on the upper left side of your jacket in a pocket away from keys, phones, or other cards.
  • Don’t hole-punch your card because it could damage the RFID technology and a replacement costs $25.

And for peace of mind: lift tickets can be canceled up to 72 hours before arrival for a full refund.

When Does It Start?

RFID card printing for Season Passholders begins Friday, October 11, so keep an eye out for updates as that date gets closer.

This upgrade is all about making your time at Holiday Valley more fun and carefree so you can spend less time in line and more time out on the slopes.
