Mother Nature is reminding us of who leads the charge into winter. Current pre-Thanksgiving weather patterns aren’t lining up with the cold temperatures we need for snowmaking, and natural snowfall is looking limited for now. While that may delay our traditional early-season momentum, there’s good news on the horizon.
Forecasts point to stronger snowmaking conditions arriving the following week, giving our team the window we need to build a solid early-season base. If temperatures cooperate, Holiday Valley is aiming for an opening during the first week of December.
As always, weather in Western New York can shift quickly, and our crews are ready to take full advantage of every cold snap. Stay tuned for updates as we move closer to welcoming you back to the slopes for another unforgettable winter in Ellicottville.
Until the lifts start spinning, take a moment to watch some highlights of Opening Days from the not so distant past.
