Welcome to Holiday Valley and our new RFID lift access system! For those who don't know, RFID means Radio Frequency Identification.
We’re excited to introduce our new SKIDATA RFID lift access system. It is designed to make your mountain experience smoother and faster. This system operates differently than you have experienced over the past few seasons.
Here’s everything you need to know to use your pass correctly.
Getting Started:
- Keep Your Pass Separate
- Make sure your RFID pass is not kept with your mobile phone or wallet adjacent to credit cards and other magnetic strip cards.
- Choose a Jacket Pocket on Your Left-Side
- Place your pass in a left-side sleeve or chest pocket (an internal chest jacket pocket is okay).
- Carry Your Own Pass
- Each skier or rider must carry their own pass. This includes family members or people in your group. Everyone must have a pass in a left-side jacket pocket.
- Handle with Care
- Do not bend your pass or punch a hole in it. This can damage the RFID chip and make it unusable. Replacement Cards are $5.
Understanding the Scanning Systems:
There are two types of scanners you’ll experience at Holiday Valley.
- Hand Scanners – these are handheld devices that a pass checker will use to scan your pass
- When approaching a hand scanner, tell the attendant where your pass is located.
- The scanner will position the device above your pass.
- Once scanned, you’re good to go. Head to the lift line!
- Gate Mounted Scanners (Yodeler, Chute, Sunrise)
- Move through the gate area with the vertical panel on your left side.
- When your pass is scanned, the gate will open, then proceed to the lift line and enjoy your ride!
- If your pass fails to scan, please step aside and a pass checker will assist you.
Reloadable Lift Pass:
If your pass has a Reload Card notice with a QR code on the back, you can add passes for future visits. Just bring it every time!
Enjoy the Slopes!
