A trip to Holiday Valley with your class, homechool group, scout troop, camp or youth group is not only fun, but it can be educational too. The activities promote teambuilding as well as a sense of accomplishment.
Sky High Adventure Park
Sky High offers groups an Aerial Park, a Climbing Forest, a Mountain Coaster and Gem Mining. As the largest aerial park in the state of New York, it's an exciting outdoor team building experience with 13 courses that range from mild to extremely challenging. Participants must be a minimum of 7 years and 36 inches. The Sky Flyer Mountain Coaster is a thrilling ride that zigs, zags and spirals down the mountain where the rider controls the speed of the cart. Riders must be at least 8 years and 54 inches to ride alone or 3 years and 38 inches to ride with a driver who is at least 16 years. The Climbing Forest is like a 3-D climbing wall with climbing holds strapped to 9 different tree trunks to heights of up to 40 feet. Climbers must be a minimum of 5 years and 30 pounds. Scouts can work on Climbing Badges at Sky High. Sky High Aerial Park student group tickets start at $43, available Monday through Thursday.
Additional activities in the Sky High area include chair lift rides to Spruce Lake from late summer through the beginning of fall, standup paddleboarding and kayaking in the summer months and cross country mountain biking trails. The resort also has an 18 hole golf course, a practice range and lessons can be arranged for student groups.
Skiing and Snowboarding
Winters at Holiday Valley allow groups to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, tubing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing and more. Holiday Valley's slopes offer gentle and advanced slopes, terrain parks, moguls and tree skiing. Cross country and snowshoe trails circle around the base area and follow the ridgeline across the top of the resort. With a minimum of 15 students, group tickets include lessons for beginners and experienced skiers and riders and rental equipment is also available. Scouts can work on Snow Sports badges. Weekday group student ticket/lesson packages start at $35 on weekdays, $27 any night.
