Eagles is a season-long program that meets at the Mountain Sports Center at the base of the Yodeler Slope. Eagles meet every weekend beginning Saturday Dec 14, 2019 through Sunday March 22, 2020. They will also meet during Christmas week, Dec. 26-31.
Eagles is a program geared toward young skiers, age 12-18 who do not wish to compete on the Holiday Valley Race, Freestyle or Snowboard Teams. The Eagles will continue to grow and improve in their skiing skills and be part of the “mountain experience”. During the season, Eagles may be exposed to and coached in their skills in alpine racing, terrain park features, skiing bumps/steeps/powder using all terrain in all conditions all the time. The goal is to give Eagles the skills to ski ably and safely in all situations at Holiday Valley Resort or most any mountain they may venture to. Fun and friendships are developed on and off the slopes through planned social events.
They will all learn and live the Your Responsibility Code and will learn about all the aspects of the “mountain adventure”. They may have a day of cross-country/ telemark skiing. They may ski a day with any of Holiday Valley's successful competitive teams to see if they would like to join. They may experience a day in the Life of a Snowmaker or Groomer if time permits. Whatever the focus for the day, the goal is safety awareness at all times and fun on the mountain, with a large dose of learning, camaraderie and smiles thrown in.
Eagles includes Christmas Camp. Purchase the 2019-20 season program for $1079 by September 15, 2019, $1159 after Sept. 15. A special season pass is available for $399 before Sept 15 or $499 after Sept 15.
The programs are led by Jennifer Courtney, who brings over 25 years of experience in working with young people as a ski teacher/coach at Holiday Valley and Buffalo Ski Club. Jen is also a Physical Education Teacher and a Lacrosse and Soccer Coach at Williamsville.
