International Bow Hunters Competition
Holiday Valley will host the prestigious International Bow Hunters World Championships on August 11 through 14, 2010. Over 2000 Bow Hunters from 20 countries will qualify for the priviledge of entering this competition. Twenty-four "ranges" are created throughout the woods and along the ski trails at Holiday Valley and over 400 3D targets are set in these ranges, approximately 20 targets per range. Teams of 4 or 5 shooters are assigned a set of 3 ranges where they fire from a designated spot at the targets. The closer their arrow comes to the "kill zone" of the target, the higher the score. The Championship Round is held on Saturday. The Defense Ranges will be set at the Holiday Valley Tubing Company on Rt. 242, 4 miles from Holiday Valley. This site provides plenty of parking and ideal terrain for practice shooting. Food and beverage will be available at the site. Find the Tubing Company with your GPS by punching in Holiday Valley Tubing Company, 5673 Bryant Hill Rd, Ellicottville, NY 14731. Sorry, shuttle service to the site will not be available. The "Holiday Valley Bowhunters Open" is open to non-qualified shooters of all ages. It is held on Thursday and Friday and cost of entry is $40. (After July 25 the entry fee is $50) Click here for a 2010 downloadable entry form.
