Terrain Parks

Snowboard and Freeride

terrain park boxHoliday Valley offers snowboarders and freeriders plenty of room to play. Five terrain parks are open to all. And for general cruising, you can't beat our network of 58 trails. Check our events calendar below for upcoming competitions in Boarder Cross, slopestyle and rails. For lots of good dialog on terrain, events and riders go to our facebook page. Also check out the vids at 4278 Parks website.

The majority of our terrain features are located in the east complex, serviced by the Cindys and Sunrise quads. The area to the east of School Haus is the Progression Park and Terrain Garden with introductory level smaller boxes, rails and snow features. It is a great place to learn how to use terrain features and a place to just relax and have some fun. New this year is the Outpost at the base of the Progression Park, come check out this fun feature for the littlest riders. Snoozer has snow features like jumps and banked turns. The Rail Park at the base of Mardi Gras features a variety of progressive and creative jib lines. Foxfire, the home of the 42/78 Park, contains our largest features for advanced level riders. There is a variety of jump features and technical rails like a wall ride, kinked and straight rails, a battleship and a rain-see from Northern Rails. 42/78 is the site of most slopestyle events in the upcoming season. Moonshadow is the site of our Boardercross Course and was widened and outfitted with more snowguns for this season. Check out this exciting run any time a competition is not scheduled.

And if you're new to riding, Holiday Valley is a Burton Learn to Ride Center and Burton Kids Learn to Ride Center! What this all means is that you'll learn from the best instructors using the best teaching methods on the best equipment.

Terrain Park Safety

1. Make a Plan. Your speed, approach and take off will directly affect your maneuver and landing.

2. Look Before You Leap. Scope around the jumps first, not over them.

3. Easy Style It. Start small and work your way up.

4. Respect Gets Respect. From the lift line through the park.

5. Inverted Aerials are Prohibited.

Holiday Valley has set out to raise $20,000 for the Boarding for Breast Cancer (B4BC) organization with its fourth Board-a-thon event on Saturday, February 16, 2013. All Holiday Valley guests will have the opportunity to support the cause through many different avenues, including a ‘Women Love to Park’ terrain park clinic, a women's freeride clinic, a Best Trick park event, and donations at the resort in the weeks leading up to the event. B4BC is a non-profit, youth-focused education, awareness, and fundraising foundation. Their mission is to increase awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection and the value of an active lifestyle. Click here for more info about Holiday Valley's event.

Founded by professional snowboarders Tina Basich and Shannon Dunn in 1996, Boarding for Breast Cancer’s mission is to teach, inspire, advocate, and serve. Guests have other opportunities to to donate by purchasing $2 pink B4BC ‘Wish Bracelets’ at the ticket windows, customer service area, and Holiday Valley Mountain Shops.
