Enjoy a 3-day learning experience coupled with the fun and excitement of our four season resort. Holiday Valley is proud to offer the Mel Sole Golf School starting in July, 2015. GOLF Magazine has ranked the Mel Sole Golf School 'TOP 25 USA Golf Schools' for 10 straight years and says “this group has done it longer and better than any school.” TripAdvisor has just bestowed their coveted Certificate of Excellence award on the academy for the over 100 five-star reviews posted by recent students.

Golfers fom beginner to advanced can take 3 half-days schools, 1 & 2-day programs, private lessons, and group clinics. Video analysis and a personal lesson/drills video is emailed to each student. Students can choose morning or afternoon sessions, 9 AM to noon or 1:30 to 5 PM. Students are grouped into small classes (no more than 4) according to their level of play. Every aspect of the game from tee to green is covered and computerized video analysis monitors students' progress. A personalized tape is provided for follow up practice.

Holiday Valley’s three day Golf School is available Tuesday through Thursday or Friday through Sunday. Juniors who are accompanied by an adult pay half-price for 1-3 day schools, groups of 2 or more receive significant discounts. For more information, pricing and reservations call 843-237-4993 or 800-624-4653 or go to www.ritson-sole.com. Corporate groups are also welcome, and instruction is tailored to accommodate the needs of meeting attendees who enjoy making use of Holiday Valley's conference and banquet facilities.

James Arbogast will be the Holiday Valley instructor again for the 2015 summer. James is one of the highly-trained and regarded teaching staff led by former South African Tour player and acclaimed instructor Mel Sole. James’s playing career began at 11 years old. His love of golf soon over took his love of baseball.  After working with his local professional, he became a very good player and teacher, helping with clinics and schools at his club. The passion was born. James went on to play in the Michigan Open and many mini tours around the Great Lakes region. At 44, James went on to obtain his degree at the Golf Academy of America in Myrtle Beach, SC. As a teaching professional, James moved to Augusta, Georgia to become an instructor at the International Golf Academy at Jones Creek Golf Club. Soon James was recognized as a very accomplished teacher and mentor for junior golfers and members. Later, James took the position of Head Golf Professional at Grandview Golf Club in Kalkaska, MI., where he also focused heavily on instruction.  With over 20 years of teaching experience, James’s passion for the game has lead him to the Mel Sole Golf Schools to become Head Teaching Professional at Holiday Valley Resort.
