Snowboard and Freeride
New for the 2009-10 season is a Pisten Bully 600 Park Bully that's equipped with a front and rear terrain park package that allows for extra high reach for building tables and a switch blade, which allows the groomer to pick up and move rails around the park. It also has an alpine flex tiller with fatboy corduroy finishers and "Dumbo" ears, all features that will create a really sweet snow surface. The majority of our terrain features are located in the east complex, serviced by the Cindys and Sunrise quads. The area to the east of School Haus is a "progression park" with introductory level smaller boxes, rails and snow features. It is a great place to learn how to use terrain features and a place to just relax and have some fun. Snoozer has snow features like jumps and banked turns, and will be the site of several USASA Boardercross events. The Rail Park at the base of Mardi Gras features a variety of progressive and creative jib lines. Foxfire, the home of the 42/78 Park, contains our largest features for advanced level riders. There is a variety of jump features and technical rails like a wall ride, kinked and straight rails, a battleship and a rain-see from Northern Rails. 42/78 is the site of most slopestyle events in the upcoming season. The halfpipe, located on lower Foxfire, is 400 feet long and 40 feet wide, with 10 foot vertical walls. We've extended the inrun to the pipe so the ride will be better than ever. Holiday Valley’s Zaugg Pipe Grinder is especially designed for Eastern snow conditions and to maintain the vertical walls and curved transition zone of the pipe. Moonshadow, located off the Morning Star quad, consists of large evenly spaced rollers that are a blast for riders and skiers. And if you're new to riding, Holiday Valley is a Burton Learn to Ride Center and Burton Kids Learn to Ride Center! What this all means is that you'll learn from the best instructors using the best teaching methods on the best equipment. Holiday Valley’s Park Ranger crew is dedicated to maintaining all of the park features. Riders are encouraged to ask questions, make comments and suggestions directly to the Rangers or on www.holidayvalleyforums.com.
