Learn to Ride

Holiday Valley offers the Burton Learn to Ride Programs for both Adults and Kids. The headquarters for both programs is the Creekside Lodge, adjacent to Holiday Valley's Clubhouse Chalet. Learn to Ride programs are available daily, kids start at 10 AM, adults start at 10:30 AM, but be sure to arrive about 1/2 hour early to get your equipment and get ready for the time of your life! The Learn to Ride program costs $65 and that includes your lesson, your lift ticket for our beginner's area and Burton boots and boards that are specially designed for learning.

So, what's it like to learn to ride? There's no magic pill and it is going to take some effort. You'll fall a bit along the way, but that's part of the fun. And when it all comes together and you can call yourself a snowboarder, that's when it's magic. With the right guidance and equipment, learning to snowboard is pretty easy. Current instruction methods can get you linking turns your first day out. But be sure to take a lesson from a pro. They are trained to break it down into small bites so you understand and will learn quickly. They'll teach you the basics of how to turn and stop, how to ride the lift, even how to fall.

Check out the Burton site for tips on learning to ride and some very cool graphics.
